Embossing is the creation of a raised image. Dies are heated and with pressure it arises the shape desired on the surface. Single, multi-level, beveled, and sculptured are the styles of embossing. It can be done on plain paper, board, leather, books, on ink, images, or foil for special effects.

Blind Embossing is the same technique used in embossing or debossing except that it is without foil or ink.
